I am Reginald Gooding, also known as ‘Trayvion’ and I am the founder of Funk Nation The Community Drumline, also known as ‘G-Funk.’ We are based out of Goldsboro, NC,
G-Funk was established in 1997, under the influence of Bobby Sherard, a former drum instructor at Goldsboro High School. I attended Goldsboro High School in 2006 as a freshman, becoming the next generation of G-Funk, which changed my life forever. In 2021-2023, I became the drum instructor for Goldsboro High School, and after the program ended, I decided to keep the Funk alive by building a community drumline that is open to anyone interested in learning, building a foundation, and more. FunkNation is not just a drumline, but a family that provides students with a positive outlet and influence, teaching them motivation, talent, structure, and discipline. We may face challenges and obstacles, but we must fight them every step of the way, and if we win each day, we will never lose in the end. We must finish every mission we begin and follow through and remember that we can do anything we set our minds to, just like it says in Philippians 4:13.
