Rev. Marvin R. Alexander, aka “Pastor A.”, is the Founder and Executive Director of Mephibosheth Project Inc. (MPI). MPI is a mentoring organization that provides community support, such as educational opportunities, job readiness preparation and local resources to those that have been involved in the Justice System and those currently serving on Probation or Parole within Wayne County, NC. Pastor A. currently serves as the Chairperson for the Wayne County Reentry Council, an officially recognized affiliate of the NC Department of Public Safety (NC DPS). Pastor A also serves as a Chaplain for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and if the official Community Liaison for the Goldsboro Partners Against Crime (GPAC), a subsidiary of the Goldsboro Police Department.
It is the fact that Pastor A. has been the recipient of “Grace”, as related to some of his previous bad choices in life that causes him to have the passion and commitment to see others active success and gain a new start in life. Through the efforts put forth by Pastor A., and the services provided through MPI, there have been over 40 individuals that been afforded the chance to pursue educational opportunities, obtain gainful employment and more importantly enjoy a life beyond incarceration. Pastor A. is a truly gifted Inspirational and Motivation Speaker that is frequently sought out for his ability to encourage, and even speak life into those that are need of a 2nd Chance.
Pastor A. holds an Associates of Applied Science degree in Substance Abuse Counseling and an Associates of Applied Science degree in Human Services Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies, with a Minor in Psychology. He is currently in pursuit of a Masters of Divinity degree with a concentration in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Counseling through Campbell University. Pastor A. is a certified Transitional Aftercare Network (TAN), mentor, in association with the NC DPS Division of Chaplaincy, and is recognized through the Correctional Counseling Institute as a certified Moral Reconation Therapy Facilitator. Pastor A. is also a member in good standing of both the American Association of Christian Counselors and the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
Pastor A, is married to Deirdre and they are the parents of 6, as the result of their blended family.
